that combine the last portions of the Patagonian plain and the Andes with beautiful valleys and forests...everything surrounded by the wild waters of the Beagle Channel, where the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean meet.
Ushuaia is a mythical place. A challenging destination that constantly amazes tourists with its magnificent natural beauty.

A trip to Ushuaia usually includes a visit to the Tierra del Fuego National Park where trekking, horseback riding, mountain biking and climbing are among the

most popular activities during summer. In winter, skiing on Cerro Castor and dog sled rides take the lead. Although Ushuaia offers a wide range of exciting attractions all-year-round, it must be noted that during winter (June till September), there are only about 7 to 8 hours of daylight. So plan ahead to get the most of your trip!

Among the most popular excursions are the ones to the Lago Escondido (Hidden Lake) and Lago Fagnano. Both are very popular hiking and fishing areas of incredible beauty. Trekking tours to the Martial Glacier, 2.8 miles northeast from Ushuaia, have also become one of tourists' favourite choices.

The most adventurous, though, prefer to navigate the wild waters of the Beagle Channel and Cape Horn. Such a trip is usually rewarded with great views of the city as well as short visits to penguin- and sea lion colonies on the nearby islands.

Finally, you might also want to check out the "End of the World Train", which runs between Ushuaia and the Tierra del Fuego National Park. Originally created to transport the prisoners and the material used to build the town's jail, this little old train now adds a touch of elegance and style to the otherwise rather desolated, unexplored environment.

During the last decade, Ushuaia became a popular destination also for cruise ships to the Antarctica. Due to its privileged geographical location, Ushuaia is usually the last continental stop for ships sailing towards the white continent.
