Salinas Grandes
It is difficult to express with words the magic of this place. The bright whiteness of crystallized salt stands out in the middle of an arid landscape of plain ground and distant mountains. It is fascinating to discover, that the irregular lines that cover the salt flats' naturally cracked surface actually form almost perfect hexagons.

Salinas Grandes, Salt Owl
In addition to enjoying its magnificent beauty, a visit to the Great Salt Flats is a good opportunity to learn about the different methods used to gather the salt we normally use at home.
Some decorative figures, including an eagle owl, and a "gaucho" , as well as a whole Restaurant made of salt complete the landscape at Salinas Grandes.
