Bariloche

Located at the shore of the wonderful Nahuel Huapi Lake, the city
of San Carlos de Bariloche has a long tradition as one the most popular
vacation destinations in Argentina.
Its charm lies not only in the breathtaking scenery surrounding it, but also
in its lovely wooden houses, the flowers hanging from every balcony in summer and the snow covering roofs and trees in winter...and, of course, its chocolate industry!

After arriving in Bariloche, the first impression is dominated by the incredible natural beauty of the Llao Llao Peninsula and the Nahuel Huapi Lake.

Llao Llao
The lake spreads over a 342 square miles surface, can be navigated year round, and is the main access route to Victoria Island and the Arrayanes Forest.
Both the lake and many of the natural attractions in the surroundings of Bariloche are located within the Nahuel Huapi National Park, which extends over a surface of 1,875,000 acres.

During winter, Bariloche becomes a favourite ski destination centered around the traditional Mount Cathedral. One of the first ski resorts in Latin America,

Capilla Villa Catedral
Mount Cathedral is undergoing an improving and enhancing program that will increase its lift capacity by 70%.

Another distinguishing feature from San Carlos de Bariloche is the constant and overwhelming presence of teenagers, who drive every year to this Patagonian city to celebrate the end of their high-school studies. To meet the requirement of this young and demanding public, the city has developed high quality entertainment alternatives that ensure not only superb daily activities but also an active nightlife.

Lake Moreno
Finally, Bariloche is also the southern end of the Seven Lakes circuit. This drive along the route 234 is surrounded by a breathtaking landscape of mountains, Andean forests and -of course- wonderful blue-green lakes, that certainly help understand why this region is called the "Argentine Switzerland". Enjoy!
