Getting to Talampaya

Unfortunately there is no direct connection between
Buenos Aires and Talampaya.
You will need to travel to La Rioja, the capital of the equally named
Province, where the Talampaya National Park is located, first. From there you can either book a guided tour at a travel agency that will take you directly into the park, or take a bus or transfer service to Villa Union, which is the closest town to the Park (70km).

If you plan to make a one-day visit to the Park, it is probably not worth travelling the extra 70km to Villa Union. Simply let the driver know that you would like to get out of the bus at the Talampaya Park.

There you can book the actual tour into the Park with the local authorized agency (Rolling Travel).
If you have enough time available and would like to enjoy the Talampaya landscapes for more than just a few hours, you can book a hotel room in Villa Union and take any of the daily transfer services to the park from there.
If you are considering renting a car in La Rioja, please take into account that, for security reasons, no private vehicles are allowed to enter the park. Therefore, the car will only be useful to cover the 230km between La Rioja and Talampaya, but you will need to leave it at the Park entrance and take one of the authorized tours through the Park.
