Quebrada de Humahuaca

The best way to enjoy the beauty and magic of the Quebrada de Humahuaca is
by booking a guided tour with an especialized agency in Buenos Aires or Salta.

However, if you prefer to travel on your own, you can take one of the buses that drive along the route 9. These buses do stop at every of the towns along the Quebrada, so you can visit as many of these lovely towns as you want.

A group of local tourist guides usually awaits tourists at Humahuaca’s entrance, but please note that this local guiding service is only available in the town of Humahuaca. For other interesting towns along the Quebrada –Maimará, Uquía, Purmamarca-, you will need to hire a local tourist guide in advance (bilingual guides are not so easy to find at such tiny towns!) or book a tour through the Quebrada de Humahuaca in Salta or Jujuy.

Bus companies travelling along the Quebrada de Humahuaca:
Evelia - Panamericano - Cotta Norte - El Quiaqueño y Jama
