Esteros del Iberá

The Esteros del Iberá are not as easy to reach as other tourist attractions in Argentina.

The best access to this wonderful ecosystem is through te cirty of Posadas, in the neighbouring province of Misiones. There you can either take a charter flight to Colonia Carlos Pellegrini, the closest town to the Esteros, rent a vehicle or take a private transport service (usually available for groups of 4 people).
If you choose ground transportation, it is important for the vehicle to be a 4x4, since only 3 out of the total 210km from Posadas to Colonia Carlos Pellegrini are on a paved route.

From Buenos Aires

Book a flight to Posadas with Aerolineas Argentinas –if possible, before you leave your country If you are willing to plan your trip in advance, you can achieve significant savings, by buying the ticket before leaving your country. (Show Details) , and then either a flight or a private transport service to Colonia Carlos Pellegrini.
If you prefer to travel by bus, then buy a ticket to Mercedes (in Corrientes province!) and then a 4x4 tour for the 115km left to Colonia Carlos Pellegrini.

From Iguazu

If you are looking for a true nature experience, there is nothing better that complementing a visit to the mighty Iguazú Waterfalls with the calm and relaxed beauty of the Esteros del Iberá.
In this case, simply take a regular bus to Posadas from the bus terminal at Puerto Iguazú and then book a flight or 4x4 private transport service to Colonia Carlos Pellegrini.
