Getting to Recoleta

Recoleta is just a 15 minutes drive from downtown Buenos Aires, and the best way to arrive is by taxi. Simply stop one of the almost 40,000 black-and-yellow cabs driving around in the city and they will let you at the heart of Plaza Francia, right next to the Recoleta Cementery.
It is usually advisable to choose so-called “Radio Taxi” instead of regular, not identified taxis that also circulate in the streets, since Radio-Taxi companies are subject to stricter control from the local authorities and thus offer usually a better and safer service. You can order a radio taxi by phone –which will pick you up at the provided location- or simply stop one of the many circulating on every street of Buenos Aires.
The cost of the drive depends on the chosen route and traffic, but every taxi-drive starts with an initial cost of 3,10 pesos (aprox. 1 dollar) and then 0,31 pesos (0,10 dollars) for every 200 meters, or for every minute until destination.
