Getting to La Boca

La Boca is just a 15 minutes drive from downtown Buenos Aires, and the best way to arrive is by taxi. Simply stop one of the almost 40,000 black-and-yellow cabs driving around in the city and they will let you get off at the heart of “Caminito”.
It is usually advisable to choose so-called “Radio Taxi” instead of regular, not identified taxis that also circulate on the street, since Radio-Taxi companies are subject to stricter control from the local authorities and thus offer usually a better and safer service. You can order a radio taxi by phone –which will pick you up at the provided location- or simply stop one of the many circulating throughout the streets of Buenos Aires.
The cost of the drive depends on the chosen route and traffic, but every taxi-drive starts with an initial cost of 3,10 pesos (aprox. 1 dollar) and then 0,31 pesos (0,10 dollars) for every 200 meters, or for every minute until destination.
